About CLT 3D Printing
Charlotte's trusted partner for professional 3D printing, rapid prototyping, and small-batch manufacturing.
Our Story
Built in Charlotte, for Charlotte
CLT 3D Printing was founded by Elena Dennstedt with a simple mission: give Charlotte-area businesses access to professional, affordable 3D printing without the long lead times and communication headaches of remote vendors.
After years of watching local startups and manufacturers struggle with overseas prototyping services — dealing with weeks-long shipping, language barriers, and parts that didn't match specs — Elena saw an opportunity to build something better, right here in the Queen City.
Today, CLT 3D Printing serves businesses across the Charlotte metro area and Lake Norman corridor, from one-off prototypes to production runs of thousands of parts. We combine professional-grade equipment with hands-on local service that remote vendors simply can't match.
Our Team
Meet the Dennstedts
CLT 3D Printing is a family business, and we bring that personal touch to every project.
Elena Dennstedt
Founder & Lead Engineer
Elena brings deep expertise in additive manufacturing, materials science, and design for manufacturability. She works directly with every client to ensure their project gets the right approach — from material selection and build orientation to post-processing and quality control.
Based in Charlotte, Elena is passionate about helping local businesses leverage 3D printing to reduce costs, accelerate product development, and solve manufacturing challenges that traditional methods can't address.
Ivana Dennstedt
Spokesperson, Age 8
Ivana is CLT 3D Printing's youngest team member and official spokesperson. At just 8 years old, she's already a 3D printing enthusiast who loves showing off what the printers can do — from custom toys to school project models.
Ivana's excitement about 3D printing is infectious, and she's proof that this technology inspires creativity at every age. She's a regular presence around the shop and brings a fresh perspective to everything we do.
Our Facility
Equipment & Capabilities
FDM Printers
Professional-grade fused deposition modeling printers with large build volumes. Capable of producing parts in PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, Nylon, and TPU.
Multi-Material Capability
We stock a wide range of engineering-grade filaments and can source specialty materials for unique applications. Colors, textures, and properties to match your requirements.
Quality Control
Every part undergoes dimensional verification, visual inspection, and fit checking before delivery. We hold standard tolerances of ±0.2mm with tighter tolerances available on request.
What Drives Us
Quality First
We don't cut corners. Every part gets the same attention to detail whether it's a single prototype or a run of 500. Your reputation depends on the quality of the parts you use, and we take that seriously.
Speed That Matters
We understand that time is money. Our standard 5-7 day turnaround and 2-3 day rush options are designed to keep your projects moving. Local Charlotte pickup makes it even faster.
Honest Communication
We'll tell you if a different material, design change, or approach would give you better results — even if it means a smaller order. We're in this for long-term relationships, not one-time transactions.
Sustainability
3D printing is inherently more sustainable than traditional manufacturing — less material waste, no tooling, and on-demand production. We prioritize eco-friendly materials like PLA and recycle print waste whenever possible.
